The charm of Square One lies not only in its delectable offerings but also in its unique approach to pizza. Unlike traditional pizzerias, they serve their pies in a charming square shape, maximizing the crust-to-topping ratio. Guests rave about the thin, crispy crust that is just the right balance between lightness and flavor. For instance, the Honey Chicken Pizza showcases a delightful mix of fresh ingredients, including tender honey chicken, artichokes, and a refreshing tomato purée that tantalizes the palate with every bite.
Among the many highlights on the menu, the Fried Raviolis and Bruschetta stand out as perfect starters. The raviolis, filled with a rich blend of cheeses and expertly fried to perfection, are served with a zesty marinara dipping sauce, while the bruschetta features fresh tomatoes, creamy goat cheese, and fragrant basil, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.
But don’t just take our word for it! Customers consistently appreciate the generous portion sizes and the friendly service provided by the staff. A recent diner, Daphne L., noted the exceptional service during her visit, stating, "I was starving one evening and came for pick-up. The pasta was a huge portion and the service was super friendly!" I like how thin and crispy the Pizza is and how they always make the Arnold palmer perfect. Even on Sat noon this place is never crowded so I could just immediately take a seat and have my peaceful lunch. I wanna come back there.

Just moved to the Irvine area, my daughter is a pizza lover and we searched for the best pizza in town on Yelp and found it. Q

I really like this place because the service is great! I was starving one evening and came for pick-up. The pasta was a huge portion and the service was super friendly! I will be back next time to try their pizza! I highly recommend! Parking in this plaza is one of the best I have experience in Irvine so far!

Square One Pizza is located in the corner of a shopping center, so it's easy to overlook it, but it's a great place for pizza, sandwiches, and pasta! I got the prosciutto chicken linguini, which came in a creamy wine sauce. I really liked it because it came with a lot of sauce and the serving size was quite large so there was enough leftover to have another day. If you go, be sure to order their home made chips which come in a large bowl and only cost a little bit more than $2. They're crispy, lightly salted, and great for sharing. FYI, they have a patio where dogs can sit plus a menu for furry friends!

What stands out here is the great service. We are well taken care of from the moment we walked in and checked on throughout our meal. I enjoyed both the pizzas and salads here. The pizza is very unique with the square shape and cracker like crossed, it is more of a light meal then most heavy American style pizzas. The salads were generous and delicious and well-made. Be sure to look out for coupons, as they often have them to save you quite a bit on dining here. Nice option if you're craving pizza in the area.

I ordered through grub hub, so this is just about the food and not the establishment. Pizza was great! Like the name, the pizza obviously comes in a square shape. We tried the the pesto chicken which had red onions, chicken, tomatoes and pesto sauce instead of marinara. Delicious. The other pizza we tried was the gourmet meat which was very filling and good. I'm giving this place 4 stars because of the bolognese fries we had. I unfortunately didn't care too much for these fries. I love fries so I figured I would love the unique combo, but it just didn't work well in my opinion. I'd order again from this spot. But only for the pizza.

The short version: They have good thin crust pizza here! The long version: My coworker friend and I stopped here for lunch at a little after 11 am. The place was empty. I'm not a big fan of pizzas, but I'm always game for trying anything new. Based off of my pre-meal research, The McTernan Pizza looked like the item to get. I ordered the 10 inch version and a drink to go with it. They give you a number to place at your table and they'll bring over the food once it's ready. *The McTernan Pizza* According to their menu, the ingredients are tomato purée, sweet fennel sausage, pepperoni, fresh basil, and fresh mozzarella cheese. It was a square pizza cut into 4's. For a meat lover, it was on the light side, but the flavors were good! I can see why this is a popular item on the menu. I would get this one again in a heartbeat. Come here if you want a quiet lunch. I certainly hope business picks up for lunch as the place was practically empty the entire time that we were there. Hopefully they are doing better during dinner time. The location is at a corner, a bit far from everything else, so people tend to stay near the center of Oak Creek Shopping Center near El Pollo, Daphne's, and Mustard Cafe.

Why is a square pizza better than a traditional circular pizza? There are probably many reasons, but the geek in me will tell you the most obvious reason - A square pizza is bigger! Given the same 10-inch pizza (10 inches being the length of a square or the diameter of a circle), a square pizza gives you 100 square inches of yumminess, while a circular pizza only gives you 25pi (or approximately 78.5) square inches. If that reason is not enough, Square One's pizzas are delicious! HONEY CHICKEN PIZZA: The thin crust was perfectly light, airy and slightly crispy. The sauce was not really a "sauce" but was fresh tomato puree that was tasty and refreshing. Besides the honey chicken pieces, other toppings included red peppers, artichokes and ricotta cheese. It was an amazing pizza. However, I have to say that there weren't really more than just a few tiny pieces of chicken in the pizza, and the portions of the toppings were rather stingy. MUSHROOM PENNE: It was a nice vegetarian dish made with perfectly al dente penne topped with sliced sautéed mushrooms and crispy asparagus pieces. Contrary to the pizza toppings, the pasta was accompanied with generous amounts of mushrooms and asparagus. The pasta was tossed in a white wine butter sauce that was light and not greasy. The white wine flavor was subtle and not bold. For a neighborhood gem, their menu is rather extensive. I am planning to be back really soon to try some of their other specialty pizzas. The Spicy Shrimp as well as the Charred Steak are already in my bucket list. Until then, every time I order a traditional pizza, I'll remember that it's smaller than a square pizza...
